Congress misleading people on CAA: Anurag Thakur

| @indiablooms | Jan 14, 2020, at 11:00 pm

Kangra/UNI: Union Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur was on Tuesday critical of Congress and Opposition parties in the country for floating rumours and baseless and misleading information about the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), to create unrest in the country.

Thakur was speaking as a chief guest during inaugural function of the two-day state-level Lohri festival at heritage village of Pargpur, this evening.

He was accompanied by Industries Minister Bikram Singh Thakur and both the leaders greeted people on the occasion of Lohri.

He clarified that CAA was no way against the Muslim minorities of the country, but to provide citizenship to those Hindus, Sikhs, Buddists, Jain and Parsis, who came to India due to religious terror from Pakistan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh.

Despite the assurances by the Congress leadership during the last 70 years, nothing was done for these people, who had come to India due to religious terror in those countries.

He said it was Narendra Modi, who got the opportunity and rose to the occasion.

He was also critical of left parties for using students of JNU for their political vested interests which he described was unfortunate.

Thakur said that a handful of people were trying to create anarchy in the country, but have failed in their designs.

He said that some artists have also stood with the people who want to divide the country were allegedly exposed.

The first evening of the Lohri Festival was attended by famous singers Hans Raj Raghuvanshi, Kuldeep Sharma and folk Singer Karnal Rana. Both Anurag Thakur and Bikram Singh Thakur danced on the song sung by Kuldeep Sharma this evening.
