Congress takes swipe at PM Modi on Manipur situation
New Delhi/UNI: The Congress on Friday took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the current situation in Manipur by accusing him of not being sensitive over the matter.
"The PM has the time and inclination to ride on the metro to attend the centenary celebrations of the University that gave him a MA in ‘Entire Political Science’, which clearly did not teach him how to be sensitive to situations like the one prevailing in Manipur," Congress general secretary in-charge Communications Jairam Ramesh wrote in a tweet, while referring to PM's address at the valedictory session of the Delhi University.
The Congress has been questioning the silence of the PM over the Manipur situation.
The party blamed the BJP-led government for the current crisis in Manipur.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited Moirang in Bishnupur district and interacted with displaced people on Friday.
He was not allowed to travel by road to Moirang, about 45 km from Imphal, and reached by a chopper.
After arrival on Thursday, the former AICC President along with former Chief Minister O Ibobi, AICC GS Organization, KC Venugopal, State Congress President K Meghachandra and others had gone to Churachandpur.
However, the convoy was stopped at Bishnupur district for over two hours by Bishnupur Police.
