Coronavirus cases rise to 1,574 in M'rashtra; 110 lives lost

Mumbai/UNI: With 210 new cases of coronavirus and 13 deaths were reported in Maharashtra on Friday, taking the total number of infections to 1,574. The total death toll stands at 110.

Out of 13 deaths, 10 were reported in Mumbai and one each in Pune, Panvel and Vasai Virar, State Health Minister Rajesh Tope shared the detail here tonight.

Tope said that so far 188 Coronavirus patients were cured and discharged.

Out of 33,093 swab samples, 1574 tested positive on Friday.

The minister said that about 38,927 people have been advised home-quarantine, whereas 4,738 were kept in isolation wards of hospitals across the state.

The finance capital of India is one of the worst-hit state accounting to 1,008 infections and 64 casualties, followed by Pune with 254 positive cases and 26 deaths.

In the wake of rising cases, the police have tightened security in several COVID-19 affected cities.
