Coronavirus outbreak: Govt is vigilant, says Modi; Rahul blames PM
New Delhi/IBNS: Amid the spreading of the deadly Novel Coronavirus across the country and the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday said his government was vigilant about the present situation urging people not to panic.
In a tweet, Modi, who had earlier skipped the Holi celebrations over Coronavirus outbreak, tweeted, "The Government is fully vigilant about the situation due to COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus. Across ministries & states, multiple steps have been proactively taken to ensure safety of all. These steps are wide-ranging, from suspension of Visas to augmenting healthcare capacities."

These steps are wide-ranging, from suspension of Visas to augmenting healthcare capacities.
The Prime Minister said none of his ministers will travel abroad in upcoming days.
He tweeted, "Say No to Panic, Say Yes to Precautions. No Minister of the Central Government will travel abroad in the upcoming days. I urge our countrymen to also avoid non-essential travel. We can break the chain of spread and ensure safety of all by avoiding large gatherings."

The total number of positive cases have reached 73 on Thursday. However, out of 73, three people from Kerala have recovered.
The Indian government on Wednesday suspended all visas, except the diplomatic, official, United Nations/International Organisations, employment and project ones, till Apr 15.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar in Parliament on Thursday called the Coronavirus outbreak a matter of concern.
Congress Lok Sabha MP Rahul Gandhi, however, blamed Prime Minister Modi for not taking adequate preparations to control the situation.

Addressing media, Gandhi said, "There is no preparation of Coronavirus. They (the government) didn't realise that it was spreading in the country. The Prime Minister is sleeping at his will. He does not understand these things.
We are heading on a highway for an accident as a nation."
