COVID-19: Liquor outlets closed in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram/UNI: All liquor outlets including toddy shops will be closed during the lockdown period, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said on Wednesday.

Talking to newspersons here, the Chief Minister said all liquor outlets including bars, toddy shops and BEVCO outlets will be closed down in view of lockdown declared as part of precautions against the spread of COVID-19.

Strict action will be taken against people wandering outside unnecessarily. Only essential travel and services will be allowed, he added.

Meanwhile, the Chief Minister will be holding press briefings through video conferencing from Thursday as part of social distancing.
