Thiruvananthapuram/UNI: The third day of the Kerala leg of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra commenced from Kaniyapuram near Kazhakootam on Tuesday and witnessed huge turnout.

Thousands of people lined up on both sides of roads to extend their support to the Wayanad MP.

The padayatra will halt at Attingal at 11 am and resume at 5 pm to reach Kallambalam.

Rahul Gandhi will interact with rural labourers, leaders of Communist Marxist Party (CMP) and representatives of anti K-Rail agitation committee.

While speaking at the conclusion of the foot march at Kazhakootam Monday evening, the Congress leader said: "You can win elections with hatred, violence and anger, but you cannot do anything for the country with that.

"That is what BJP has proven. You will not solve the problem of unemployment or that of high prices with anger. It cannot be done."

"The conversation in India has been sacrificed. The voice of the people of this country has been silenced. The institutions have been taken over and captured," he added.

The 19-day padayatra in Kerala alone from September 11 to 29 will cross seven districts and cover 450 km raising the slogan ‘Mile Kadam, Jude Vatan’ (step by step unite India).

The all India padayatra will cover 3,750 km and pass through 12 states and two Union territories in 150 days.
