Defeat BJP as it indulges in politics of hatred: Akhilesh Yadav
Sambhal, Apr 11 (UNI): Claiming the first phase of polling in Uttar Pradesh has set the tone and tenor of the polling in the state, Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav said it is mandatory for the development of India to defeat BJP because it indulges in the politics of hatred.
Addressing an election rally in Sambhal on Thursday, Yadav said that BJP is following the principle of divide and rule.
"Therefore, it is trying to divide the society on the name of religion and caste. The need of the hour is to show unity so that we can defeat the nefarious designs of the Bharatiya Janata Party," he said.
“The alliance of Samajwadi Party, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) will bring a mahaparivartan which will usher in an era of prosperity in the country.
"This is the responsibility of every voter to vote enbloc in favour of alliance,” Yadav said.
Hitting out at BJP, he said that prime minister Narendra Modi has always played with the sentiments of the people.
"First, he talked about acchche din but actually took away employment by culling high denomination currency notes. This resulted in closing down of factories. While in UP the Government has failed to control the menace of stray cattle. Farmers are forced to keep `chowkidari’ of their field while BJP workers call themselves as Chowkidar," he said.
Talking about his achievement he said that no government has ever made highway as good as Agra-Lucknow expressway.
"The SP Government started Samajwadi Pension scheme but the same was withdrawn by this government. Our government distributed laptops among students but this government did nothing. This government talks about improvement in power supply but has not set up any power plant," he said.
