Delhi govt eradicated corruption, spent money for people's facilities: Kejriwal

New Delhi/UNI: In the concluding session of the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said the Delhi Government has reduced corruption and unwanted expenditure and has spent the money for providing facilities to people.

“The Delhi government got clean chit from CAG and other investigation agencies irrespective of ruthless scrutiny in the last five years. It has become the most accountable government ever in India. CAG is the most admired auditing agency in India. In the last 70 years, CAG had unearthed many scams like 2G, Coal and CWG etc. In spite of harsh scrutiny, CAG couldn’t find out anything wrong with the Delhi government in the last five years," Kejriwal said.

"In 2015, people of Delhi gifted us an unprecedentedly massive victory with 67 seats out of 70. After five years, we have fulfilled the responsibilities entrusted to us by the public,” the CM said.

“All agencies controlled by our political opponents scrutinized us. CBI raided my office. Delhi police raided my house including the bedroom. My fellow ministers Manish Sisodia, Satyendra Jain and Kailsah Gahlot were also raided by the central agencies. Nothing suspicious they got. It was first time a Chief Minister’s bedroom was raided by the police from the respective state or union territory," he said.

“We got clearance from the judiciary too. There were cases against 20 MLAs and none of them withstood in the court. Shunglu Committee inspected 400 files for many months and could find anything problematic. No government in independent India has been scrutinized like this, that too by the political opponents," he said.

Kejriwal said since independence, Delhi became the first state/UT that could achieve surplus budget.
