Delhi govt to increase COVID-19 testing capacity amid rising cases

New Delhi/IBNS: The Delhi government will conduct door-to-door sampling in a bid to identify COVID-19 patients amid rising cases of the infection in the national capital, said a media report.

According to a Times Now report, the Delhi government decided to increase the testing capacity as the total number of coronavirus cases on Saturday rose to 1,069 in the national capital.

At present, there are 30 COVID-19 hotspots in Delhi after the Kejriwal government added six new containment zones on Friday.

The six new zones are Nabi Karim, E pocket GTB enclave, street no 18 to 22 Zakir Nagar and nearby area of Abu Bakar Masjid, Zakir Nagar, the Delhi government notified.

Earlier in the day,  Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal supported Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to extend the lockdown to contain the spread of coronavirus.
