Delhi police chief B S Bassi not in list for post in top anti-corruption agency
New Delhi, Feb 19 (IBNS) Delhi Police Chief BS Bassi, who is facing criticism over the JNU arrests, is not in the list of aspirants for a post-retirement senior post after his tenure ends this month as boss of the national capital police force, according to media reports.
Media reports said his name is not in the government list for a high position in the county's top anti-corruption agency.
He was earlier shortlisted for the Central Information Commission, which has three vacancies for Commissioner.
Bassi, whose police force arrested JNU student wing leader Kanhaiya Kumar on charges of sedition in the anti-India slogan shouting incident, told NDTV, "The decision doesn't bother me at all."
The panel that appoints Information Commissioners is headed by the Prime Minister, and includes the Leader of the Opposition, Mallikarjun Kharge and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
Earlier reports said Alok Verma is likely to become the next Commissioner of Delhi Police.
Bassi will retire on Feb 29.
