Mumbai, Jan 5 (IBNS): Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has expressed his hope that by 2050 more than one Maharashtrian will occupy the PM's post.

During an event in Nagpur on Friday, the Minister was quoted as saying by the media: "I hope by 2050, not only one but more than one Maharashtrian would occupy the prime minister's post."

Currently, Narendra Modi is serving as the Prime Minister of India.

He had earlier served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Fadnavis made the comments at a time when the country is gearing up for the Lok Sabha polls this year.
