Does not matter who says what sitting at home: Bengal BJP chief Dilip Ghosh counters Chandra Bose

Kolkata/IBNS: Countering his party leader Chandra Bose who said uneducated people should not comment on intellectual community, West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Dilip Ghosh on Tuesday implied that statements passed by people who are not present on field do not matter.

Bose said on Twitter, "People who are uneducated should not comment on Intellectual Community of Bengal."

Countering Bose, who is the vice president of West Bengal BJP, Ghosh said, "It does not matter who says what sitting at home. People are on the ground."

Bose in another tweet had said the BJP's recent success in the state was due to the popularity of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the state unit should build a team of talented leaders. Given an opportunity, he can take the responsibility to build a team, said the leader who was defeated by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in the 2016 assembly elections from Bhawanipore seat.

"We need leaders with talent&capability! 2019 Loksabha elections we won 18 seats with the positive image of @narendramodi without any calibre of local leaders. In order to win the 2021 Assembly elections we need talent of local leaders. Given an opportunity I would build that team." Bose had tweeted.

In reply, Ghosh said, "Yes we are also searching for a leader. We are aware that we lack that."

In 2019 General Elections, Bose was defeated by Trinamool Congress (TMC)' Mala Roy from Dakshin Kolkata constituency while Ghosh won the Bankura seat three years after winning the Kharagpur Sadar assembly seat.

The BJP had given a jolt to the TMC in 2019 by winning 18 of 42 Lok Sabha seats.
