According to HT Raina has been admitted to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Super Specialty hospital in Kakryal in Reasi district.
Raina said he was in Bandipora where BJP leader Sheikh Waseem Bari, his brother and their father were killed by terrorists.
After he had a mild fever, a coronavirus test was done. Though his first test result is positive, he is still asymptomatic and will go for another test soon, adding that he will follow all the guidelines of the health ministry and the J&K administration, the HT added in its report.
Raina had been staying in Bandipora after the assasination of the BJP leader and his family members and had met a large number of other people, said the report.
"All the top BJP leaders, including party general secretary Ram Madhav, union minister Dr Jitendra Singh and vice president Avinash Rai Khanna and workers, will be quarantined and tested as per contact tracing protocol due to contact with party president Ravinder Raina who has tested positive,” a party leader was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.
On July 12, BJP’s national general secretary Ram Madhav, union minister Dr Jitendra Singh and BJP’s national vice president Avinash Rai Khanna had visited the slain BJP leader's house with the Jammu Kashmir BJP chief.
The HT report said Ram Madhav's personal secretary informed that the BJP leader will inform about going into self-quarantine and coronavirus test.
BJP’s national vice president Avinash Rai Khanna said he has tested negative for coronavirus.
