Don't make controversial comments, we are on verge to form next govt: Kumaraswamy urges Congress-JDS
Bengaluru, May 18 (IBNS): Just five days prior to the Lok Sabha poll results, Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has urged people of his own party Janata Dal Secular and the Congress to refrain from making controversial statements as the opposition parties, according to him, are set to form a new government.
Congress and JDS are running a coalition government in Karnataka.
Kumaraswamy tweeted, "We are on the verge of formation of a new Government at the centre. At this juncture where all efforts are being made to form non-BJP government at the centre, the contradictory statements by leaders of coalition partners #Congress-#JDS may mar such efforts."

After a fractured mandate emerged in the Karnataka assembly elections last year, Congress and JDS were swift to stitch an alliance and formed the government.
Though the BJP had initially formed a minority government under Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, the saffron party could not manage to prove majority. Eventually the Congress and JDS formed the government with Kumaraswamy as the Chief Minister.
However, the two parties were seen hitting out at each other on multiple occasions in the last few months.
In late January, Kumaraswamy even threatened to quit as the Chief Minister if Congress continues to take potshots at him.
Later, the Congress went into a damage control mode.
