DYFI activist goes missing from Feb 11 Nabanna Abhijan rally, family lodges complaint
Kolkata/IBNS: When Kolkata is witnessing a political tension following the death of a DYFI activist, who had allegedly been injured in a clash with police during Feb 11 Nabanna abhijan rally, another DYFI worker has reportedly gone missing from the same rally.
Family members of the DYFI activist from Panskura, Dipak Kumar Panja, on Monday registered a missing complaint with New Market Police Station in Kolkata claiming that the middle-aged man had joined the protest rally on Feb 11 and has been untraceable since then.
"My husband left home on Thursday (Feb 11) morning with his comrades and joined the Nabanna abhijan rally in Kolkata," Dipak Kumar Panja's wife, Saraswati Panja, said.
"Since Thursday, he had gone missing and I couldn't make any contact with him," she added.
A Kolkata Police official said that an investigation had been initiated into the matter, and the Left activist's photo, as well as other details, had been shared with other police stations.
