Eight Tamil actors face non-bailable arrest warrant over defamation case against them
Eight Tamil actors who were present in the meeting held by the South India Cine Actors Associations (Nadigar Sangam) way back in 2009, criticised the publication of an article for denting the image of actresses.
A freelance journalist of Ooty filed a defamation case against all these actors claiming that they had attacked all journalists instead of one media house who had published the particular article, following which the court had issued the summons to all these eight actors in 2011.
Though the Tamil actors tried to dispense their personal appearance before the court but were rejected by the Madras High Court.
The judicial district magistrate after hearing the details of the case in mid May 2017, ordered the non-bailable warrant against the actors.
