Exit poll results only after 6:30 pm: ECI

New Delhi, May 11 (IBNS): As the country gears up to execrsie their franchise on the ninth and last phase of the Lok Sabha polls, the Election Commission of India on Sunday said the results of exit polls can be broadcast only after 6:30 pm on Monday.

"In order to remove any doubt, it is clarified that under the law (Section 126A of a Representation of the People Act, 1951), the results of exit poll can be disseminated only after 6. 30 PM on 12th May 2014, as already notified by the Commission vide its notification dated 3rd April 2014," the Commission  said in a statement on Sunday.

India will vote in the last phase of the Lok Sabha polls on Monday.

The counting of votes will take place on May 16.
