Fire breaks out at four places in Kolkata

Kolkata, Nov 12 (IBNS): At least four fire incidents have been reported so far in Kolkata on Thursday.

A minor fire broke out in a shop at Central Avenue in north Kolkata on the wee hours of Thursday, which was brought under control by four fire tender engines.

Another fire incident was reported in the second floor of a multi-storey building at Bentick Street in Kolkata around 1:30 pm on Thursday. As many as five fire tender engines rushed to the spot and fire fighters brought the blaze under control in nearly one and half hours.

Meanwhile, a major fire broke out in a warehouse of plastic goods at Beliaghata area. The fire reached to other two godowns nearby. At least 20 fire tender engines went to the spot and after few hours, the fire was brought under control. Three godowns have been gutted completely.

Another warehouse of plastic goods at Joka area in Kolkata caught fire on Thursday evening. More than 10 fire tender engines went to the spot and the fire was brought under control after few hours.

However, no casualty was reported in the fire incidents. Fire department has started investigations into all cases to know the exact reasons of the fire incidents.
