Five drown in Saryu river in Gorakhpur

Gorakhpur, Mar 21 (UNI): Five students drowned in the Saryu river here in Belaghat area late on Wednesday evening.

Police sources confirmed the incident here on Thursday and said the students, who had come to their native village on Holi, went to swim in the Saryu river when the tragedy happened.

Initially the family members did not aware about the incident but when they went to search for them later in the night, they found their clothes and mobile phones.

The deceased, all from the Balai Khurd village, were identified as Satyam (14), Saurabh (19), Nitesh (16), Aman (17) and Adarsh (23).
