Five held in connection with extortion in Nagaland's Tuensang

Kohima: Police apprehended five persons in connection with extortion case in Nagaland's Tuensang district.

Based on the credible information and complaints received by Tuensang police through recently installed police feedback boxes, regarding illegal taxation and extortion going in and around Tuensang by various underground Faction groups,  Amit Nigam, Superintendent of Police Tuensang alerted the security personnel of DEF and directed SDPO Tuensang immediately address the public grievances and complaints regarding extortion & illegal taxation.

A team of crime branch's Anti extortion unit under SDPO Tuensang directed to implemented the strategy to nab the faction involved in illegal taxation and extortion within the Tuensang district.

The special team managed to apprehended 5 persons who were caught with incrementing documents and proof of extortion from various government departments and other local business within Tuensang district.

The arrested persons were booked under relevant sections of law at PS Tuensang and further investigation is on.
