Kolkata, July 1 (IBNS): Acting on a tip off, the Kolkata Police carried out raid at a beauty parlour at Park Street in southern part of the city on Saturday late night and arrested 18 persons for allegedly running a brothel under the guise of the parlour, officials said.

According to reports, the beauty parlour, which was located on the third floor of a multi-storey at 82, Park Street under Beniapukur Police Station limits, was raided by the local police.

"After busting the sex racket, we arrested nine sex workers, three customers and six other persons, including the brothel's manager Bikash Chakraborty and few pimps, from the location," a city police official told IBNS.

"Specific cases under the Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act have been recorded at Beniapukur Police Station and an investigation has been initiated into the matter," the official added.
