Forces collectively fighting against terrorism in Valley but no change in Pakistan’s stand: J&K DGP

Jammu, Feb 25 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Director General of Police Dilbag Singh on Monday said that the state police in coordination with paramilitary forces and army collectively fighting terrorism in the Kashmir valley.

“Terrorist outfits Lashkar-e-Toiba and Jaish-e-Mohammad are working in Kashmir and carrying out attacks but the state police along with other sister concern agencies collectively fighting against them,” Mr Singh here told mediapersons on the sidelines of wreath laying ceremony of martyred Deputy Superintendent of Police Aman Thakur.

The police chief said there is no change in Pakistan’s policy towards terrorism and added, “we are trying our best to restore peace in the Valley.”

Terming the martyred officer as daring, Singh said that he laid a cordon after specific inputs near the encounter site on Sunday.

“One of his colleagues suffered a bullet injury and when he was rescuing him, a bullet hit him,” said the DGP.

He, however, said that the martyred officer was decorated with many medals for his bravery and his name was also recommended for special award but before that he attained martyrdom.
