Four die in two separate road mishaps in Assam

Guwahati: At least four people died and four others were injured in two separate road accidents in Assam’s Guwahati and Kamrup (Rural) district on Tuesday night.

A youth died on spot and one more was injured after a speedy truck hit a scooty on National Highway 37 at Khanapara area in Guwahati city.

Following the incident, locals blockaded the highway for a few hours and demanded the police to control the speed limit of the vehicles.

In a separate incident, three people were killed and three others were injured after a head-on collision between a truck and a Tata Sumo occurred at Boko Sakhati area in Kamrup (Rural) district late Tuesday night.

According to the locals, the deceased and injured persons, who were travelling in the Tata Sumo, were returning home from Guwahati.

The injured persons were rushed to Guwahati Medical College and Hospital.
