Bengaluru, Nov 12 (IBNS): Karnataka Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy has said that the identities of the killers of journalist-activist Gauri Lankesh will be revealed soon, media reports said.

The Karnataka Government had formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the murder of Gauri Lankesh on Sept 5.

Reddy said the SIT has definite clues and is aware of the identities of those inovolved in the murder of Gauri Lankesh.

"Their identities will be revealed this month," Reddy told reporters.

Lankesh, 55, a popular journalist who took stands against Right-wing ideology, was shot three times by some unknown assailants outside her residence on Sept 5.

Her murder bears a resemblance with earlier murders of rationalists Narendra Dabholkar and MM Kalburgi.

Her brother Indrajit Lankesh had told reporters that one lady who stays opposite his sister's house heard the noise of the shooting first which she initially mistook for the sound of  fire crackers and later identified Gauri's body lying down.

Gauri Lankesh's murder had sparked country-wide protests.
