Govt committed to protect interests of ex-servicemen: Yogi Adityanath
Ghazipur (UP)/UNI: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s double-engine government is committed to the welfare of armed forces personnel.
Addressing ex-servicemen during a felicitation ceremony organised here in the presence of the national president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) JP Nadda, Yogi said that the slogan of the BJP is 'Nation First', similarly, every soldier's motto is 'Country First'.
The CM said that like BJP is the biggest political party in the world, similarly, Ghazipur is the district that sends the maximum number of jawans to the Army, Paramilitary and Police forces.
Congratulating the ex-servicemen on the occasion, he said that the ex-servicemen had been demanding One Rank, One Pension since independence and the decision to implement it was taken by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014.
He said that similarly the state government is also making many efforts to connect ex-servicemen with government services.
Yogi said, "Ghazipur is fortunate that Param Vir Chakra awardee Veer Abdul Hameed was the son of this soil and Gahmar is also in the district, which is the largest village in India known for sending a large number of youths to the armed forces."
He assured the armed forces personnel that the government of double engine is working to promote their interests and is always standing with them at every level.
