GST Bill listed in Rajya Sabha agenda for consideration

New Delhi, Jul 29 (IBNS): The government has listed the GST Constitutional Amendment Bill in the Rajya Sabha on Friday for consideration next week, according to media reports.

Minister of state for parliamentary affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, while stating the agenda for the week starting August 1 in the Rajya Sabha, said the Constitution (122nd Amendement) Bill, 2014 will be taken up for consideration and passage, media reported.

On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet had approved two key changes to the Bill to address concerns raised by the state governments.

The central government is eager to get the GST Bill approved during the Monsoon Session of Parliament ending on August 12.

The bill was passed by the Lok Sabha in May 2015.
