Srinagar, Apr 2 (IBNS) A fierce gun battle has started here between security forces and militants in North Kashmir' Tangmarg town, police sources said on Thursday.

Sources told IBNS that on a tip-off joint teams of Army's 29 RR and SOG launched a search operation in Hardushoora Sultanpora village of Tangmarg , about the presence of some militants believed to be inside a house.

When the security forces approached towards the house, the militants opened fire at them with automatic weapons triggering a gun battle which is still on, the officer said.

Senior police officials of the town told IBNS that initial reports suggest that two Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists are inside the house.

There has been, however, no information of injury or casualty on either side till now.
