HC asks Delhi govt whether it can restrict odd-even rule to a week
The step was taken by the Delhi government as a step to curb down the rising air pollution in the city.
The Delhi HC have also asked for air pollution reports for a period of Jan 1 to Jan 7. The court also stated that under the new rule, there are less number of vehicles to carry people.
Many PILs have already been filed, according to reports. The latest of which is by a resident who have alleged the Delhi Government of violating his fundamental rights, equality and freedom of movements.
According to the scheme, women, defence vehicles, lawmakers (except Delhi), ambulances and two-wheelers are exempted from the new rule.
