Heavy rains in Mumbai, train services affected

| | Jul 21, 2015, at 06:44 pm
Mumbai, Jul 21 (IBNS) Heavy rains continued to pound Mumbai and its surrounding areas since Monday night leading to disruption in train services, the lifeline of the country's financial capital.

Reports said  train services on Western lines have been severely affected beyond Virar due to waterlogging at Palghar and Boisar stations, since early Tuesday morning.

Waterlogging  on tracks near Kalyan station has also caused delays in train movement on the Central line.

Due to heavy rains and breaches between Palghar and Boisar, five Western Railways were cancelled in the morning.

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai over the next 24 hours.
