Jamtara/Ranchi/UNI: Chief Minister (designate) Hemant Soren has decided to withdraw the case which was registered by him against Raghubar Das for making casteist remarks.

Hemant said he does not want to maintain an attitude of 'revenge' as he believes in working with a positive mind set and work for the people. He said whatever happened at the time of the elections is now over and now it is time to give a new direction to the state.

He said he is only a medium and the ruling and the opposition members together will have an important role to play in the development of the state and fighting only leads to loss.

Hemant said he had filed the case against Mr Das on some issues but now he has decided not to pursue the allegations and all steps will be taken to withdraw the case immediately.

On Wednesday last, an FIR was registered against caretaker Chief Minister Raghubar Das for making casteist remarks against JMM's acting president Hemant Soren.

The FIR was registered in case number 110/19 under sections 504/506 of IPC and under Section 3 SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities Act at the Dumka SC/ST Police Station. However, as the case was related to Mihijam Police Station of Jamtara district, it was transferred to the concerned police station.

Hemant Soren had alleged that  Raghubar Das had used foul language and made casteist remarks against him at a rally in Jamtara.
