Hamirpur/UNI: Babli Devi, the Hamirpur Zila Parishad chairperson, joined the BJP at the residence of the former Himachal Pradesh chief minister PK Dhumal on Monday evening.

Babli Devi was elected to the Zila Parishad as an independent but had not officially joined the BJP earlier.

However, after seeing the works of the party government in the state and center both, she decided to join the BJP for the well-being of the masses.

She said, "I am a witness to the fact that every small worker in the Bharatiya Janata Party gets full respect, I belong to a small caste, but today with the blessings of former Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, I have reached the point that I had never dreamed of."

She said that whenever she met the former chief minister for any work, he had done the same on-the-spot work.

After reaching the former Chief Minister's residence, the workers led by Babli Devi joined the Bharatiya Janata Party with their hearts and got up on their own and put the scarves of the Bharatiya Janata Party around their necks.

The Zila Parishad chief claimed that nearly twenty Dalit families of the Sujanpur area have also joined the BJP along with her and they have decided to work whole heartedly for the party in its Mission-2022 drive for the HP Vidhan Sabha elections.

On this occasion, BJP District president Baldev Sharma was especially present and accepted all in the party fold.

Dhumal congratulated them for joining the BJP and said that they should be fully prepared for the coming assembly elections and the welfare schemes of the central and state government.

He told them that they would get full respect in the Bharatiya Janata Party.
