Himachal Pradesh: Search on for missing Paraglider pilot
Shimla/UNI: The search for 45-year-old Delhi-based pilot, who went missing near Billing while paragliding on Friday evening, is still on.
The parents of the missing pilot Rohit Baloria were sought assistance of state administration and a helicopter was conducting aerial surveillance on Saturday at the spot where the pilot seen before missing.
Baloria was taking off from Billing at around 1530 hrs on Friday. However, the paraglider could not land at his destination point at Chogan, police said.
Baijnath Police station incharge Om Prakash Thakur told UNI that Police rescue party and members of Bir Billing Paragliding Association Team are leading the search operations and drown cameras were also pressed into service.
Other pilots, who were paragliding on that time with Baloria are not sure whether he landed somewhere in the snow cladded mountain ranges, police added.
Bir-Billing, which figures among the top-ten paragliding sites, is favourite among adventure sports enthusiasts. Hundreds of foreign and domestic tourist head to the sprawling valley for paragliding in every summer and autumn.
