Hindu Janjagran Samiti seeks apology from Amitabh Bachchan for 'hurting' religious sentiments
Kolhapur/UNI: Hindu Janjagran Samiti (HJS) on Monday sought an apology from Bollywood super star Amitabh Bachchan for ''hurting'' the religious sentiments of the community in the October 30th episode of "Kaun Banega Crorepati-season 12"(KBC) aired on Sony TV by asking suspicious and negative questions about the Hindu scriptures.
Ramesh Shinde, HJS national spokesperson, said in a statement that in "Karmaveer Vishesh' episode of KBC, on October 30, the seats of the father of Hindus were once again insulted by asking suspicious and negative questions about Hindu scriptures.
The host Mr Bacchan asked a question as to which Hindu Scriptures was burnt on December 25, 1927 by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and his followers? and gave four options for answers--Vishnupuran, Bhagavad Gita, Rigveda and Manusmruti.
Shinde questioned Bacchan and KBC what message they wanted to give. They tried to mislead the society by criticising Manusmruti for its ideologically inappropriate caste-discrimination , so it was burnt.
This was the second incidence, as the KBC had insulted Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj by addressing him singularly as 'Shivaji'.
He further demanded that Mr Bacchan publicly apologise for insulting Hindu Dharma, Scriptures and national heroes like Dr Ambedkar.
