New Delhi, Feb 26 (IBNS): Amid reports that Indian Air Force jets hit a terrorist camp across the Line of Cross in Balakot, Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday praised the forces for the move.

"I salute the pilots of the IAF," Gandhi tweeted.

Nearly two week after a terrorist attack in Pulwama left 40 CRPF jawans killed, Indian Air Force on Tuesday night hit back and struck a terrorist camp across the Line of Cross in Balakot, Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa, media reports said.

Sources tell NDTV that the strikes were "100 per cent successful" and went on exactly as planned.

Major General AK Siwach tells NDTV: "There is absolutely no question that India is now on the highest alert. The strikes have been very successful, and now we must stay guarded.

Kashmir witnessed a black day on Feb 14 when a terror attack killed 40 Indian CRPF jawans and left the nation shocked.

India blamed Pakistan for the incident.
