| | Feb 25, 2016, at 01:29 am
New Delhi, Feb 24 (IBNS) A group of IAS probationers including officer trainees from the Royal Bhutan Civil Services attending the IAS Professional Course Phase –I for the 2015 Batch called on the President of India Pranab Mukherjee at Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Wednesday.

On the occasion, the President welcomed the young officers to Rashtrapati Bhavan.

He said that they had all come from diverse backgrounds but this diversity had converged into one stream, that of a very distinguished public service.

Mukherjee said that in our country we not only celebrate diversity, but we cherish diversity.

He urged the probationers to be the change which they aspire to see in society.

He advised them to always remember that they represent the face of the Government.

Mukherjee said that the motto of their Academy was ‘sheelam param bhushanam’ and therefore their best ornament should be their conduct and behavior towards the public.

He said that their attitude and approach towards their job was important as it would not only affect their own careers but also the future of the nation.

In this regard, if they felt that they were making a contribution in building the nation, they would get immense satisfaction.

The probationers are in Delhi to attend the training at 'Bureau of Parliamentary Studies and Training' from Feb 22 to 26.
