'If only words could describe...': Modi 'bows' to Bengaluru people for cheering his mega roadshow

Bengaluru/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Saturday impressed by the massive cheer by the people of Bengaluru where he held a 26-kilometer roadshow for his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) days ahead of the Karnataka assembly elections.

Tweeting pictures of the roadshow which was attended by a huge number of people, Modi said, "If only words could describe what I just saw in Bengaluru! I bow to the people of this vibrant city for showering me with affection that I will cherish for my entire life. Here are some glimpses."

The Prime Minister added, "It is clear Bengaluru wants BJP. This city believes that our Party will continue delivering on good governance and development."

The Prime Minister, who is the biggest trump card of the BJP in any election of the country, travelled in a vehicle amid the cheer from a huge number of people who gathered on the sides of the streets to get a glimpse of the popular leader.

Modi was accompanied by Tejasvi Surya and P.C. Mohan, the BJP MPs from Bengaluru South and Bengaluru Central respectively, in the vehicle.

The BJP, which is eyeing to return to power with full majority unlike 2018 polls, raised slogans 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Jai Bajrang Bali' heating up the last run of the campaign.

Despite emerging as the single largest party in Karnataka in 2018, the BJP failed to form its government with the Congress tying up with Janata Dal Secular to form the government.

However, several crossovers from the Congress and JDS to the BJP helped the saffron party to return to power.

The 2023 assembly elections are scheduled to be held on May 10 and the results to be declared on 13th of the same month.
