IKEA regrets for serving cake in which insect was found

Hyderabad, Sept 21 (IBNS): Furniture retail company IKEA on Thursday regretted over an incident, in which an insect was found in a cake which was served to a man in Hyderabad, media reports said.

Kishore took to Twitter to share images of the cake in which an insect was found.

Sharing the images in the micro-blogging site, Kishore said: "#Ikeahyderbad  I found an insect inside the chocolate cake which came out while my daughter was eating the cake at IKEA store today in Hyderabad."

Kishore also shared a video along with the bill.

He tweeted, "look at the right side of the cake its moving and its not a flying insect as was suggested by IKEA manager!"

Regretting over the incident, IKEA said as he has been quoted by NDTV, "In our Hyderabad restaurant when a customer was eating a chocolate cake which he bought, a fly was seen on the cake which eventually flew away."

"We regret this and apologise to our customer for the unfortunate experience. We are taking steps to avoid such occurrences."

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has fined IKEA Rs. 5000 on the basis of Kishore's complaint, media report said.
