India reports close to 58,000 Covid-19 cases in 24 hours, 941 fatalities

New Delhi/IBNS: India has reported 57,981 fresh Covid-19 cases and 941 fatalities in the last 24 hours between Sunday and Monday mornings.

The overall Covid-19 tally in the country has now touched 2.64 million while 50,921 people have so far succumbed to the virus.

As of now, 6,76,900 Covid-19 cases are active in 36 states and union territories from across the country.

The recovery rate in the country has touched 72.51% with 19,19,842 patients including 57,584 in the last 24 hours have been cured so far in the county of 1.3 billion people.

Meanwhile, the hunt for the vaccine in the country is still on, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Independence Day speech on Saturday said, "Not one or two, three vaccines are at different levels of trial in our country. As soon as the scientists will give a green signal, the production of the vaccines will begin."
