India wants to know about your degree, Robert Vadra hits back at Smriti Irani

| @indiablooms | May 06, 2019, at 05:25 pm

New Delhi, May 6 (UNI) Taking a swipe at Union Minister Smriti Irani for dragging him into the thick of electioneering of the sixth phase of the general elections, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra asked the BJP candidate from Amethi to first clarify whether she was a graduate before taking pot-shots at him.

Writing on the social messaging site twitter, Vadra said "Smriti Irani ji, wid due respect, pls conc on elections instead of taking jibes at me. India wants to knw abt ur deg/qualifications & underlying controversy with it. First u clarify that & then point finger at others. Awaiting to c if u r qualified. No disclosure or reply means u r not."

The reference to the union minister backtracking from claims that she was a graduate made during the 2014 elections.

He was reacting after the feisty minister asserted in a news clipping attached that "vikas (development) was the main agenda of this election. Their MP (@Rahul Ganfhi) is constantly absent. They can only bring development for Robert Vadra,' in an attack on incumbent Amethi candidate and Congress President Rahul Gandhi.

Vadra is married to Priyanka Gandhi, Congress general secretary for UP (East).
