India warns Pakistan after ceasefire violations, says armed forces will respond strongly

| @indiablooms | May 10, 2025, at 11:41 pm

New Delhi: Within hours of the ceasefire declaration, Pakistan violated the agreement, prompting India to demand that Islamabad act responsibly and rein in the breaches, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said late Saturday night.

“In the last few hours, there have been repeated violations of the understanding arrived at earlier this evening between the directors general of military operations of India and Pakistan,” Misri said in a press briefing on late Saturday night.

Despite the high-stakes diplomatic development, Pakistan resorted to escalation by hitting several areas in the bordering states, sparking fresh concerns over the ground reality and the true scope of the ceasefire agreement.

Misri described the violations as “a breach of the understanding” arrived at earlier today.

“The armed forces are giving an adequate and appropriate response to these violations, and we take very, very serious notice of these violations,” Misri said, underscoring India’s readiness to deal strongly with Pakistan's misadventures.

“We call upon Pakistan to take appropriate steps to address these violations and deal with the situation with seriousness and responsibility,” Misri stated.

The armed forces are maintaining a strong vigil on the situation,” he said, adding that “the Indian armed forces have been given instructions to deal strongly with any instances of repetition of the violations of the borders along the international border as well as the Line of Control.”
