Houston/IBNS: An Indian-American woman from the US state of Texas, who went missing earlier this month, was found dead nearly 322 kilometers away in neighbouring Oklahoma state, media reports said.

Lahari Pathivada was last seen driving a black Toyota to work in the McKinney suburb. Her body was found a day after she disappeared on May 13.

The update was shared on social media by the WOW community group in Texas, which helped circulated the message of her disappearance.

Her family got worried after she did not return home after work on May 12.

Her family and friends informed the police, who tracked her phone in Oklahoma.

An investigation is currently on to probe into her mysterious death.

Pathivada worked at the Overland Park Regional Medical Centre, as per her Facebook page. She graduated from the University of Kansas and attended Blue Valley West High School.
