Is grand alliance emerging in Jammu and Kashmir?

Jammu, Nov 21 (IBNS): At a time the talks of grand alliance are going on in the rest of the country, Mehbooba Mufti's Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Omar Abdullah's National Conference (NC) and Congress might team up to form the next Jammu and Kashmir government, media reports said.

According to the reports, talks are underway to form a coalition in the state to keep the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) out of a position where it can form the state government.

The Congress has reportedly approved a grand alliance with the parties of Mufti and Abdullah, who are the former Chief Ministers of the northern state.

The announcement of the grand alliance is likely to take place on Wednesday or Thursday, report said.

In June this year, Mufti had to resign as the Chief Minister after the BJP withdrawn its support from the coalition government.

The rift between the PDP and the saffron party took a big shape after the BJP-led central government had decided to end ceasefire in the valley after festival Ramzan.
