Istanbul Airport: 400 passengers stranded in Turkey, slams IndiGo for their lack of communication, service
Around 400 passengers are currently stranded in Turkey for more than 24 hours after IndiGo flights operating from Istanbul to Delhi and Mumbai got delayed with several travellers now voicing their discontent over alleged lack of communication from the airline's staff.
The ordeal began when a flight from Istanbul to Delhi, which was scheduled to depart at 8.10 pm on December 12, was delayed to December 13.
We have a flight from Istanbul to Delhi operated by @IndiGo6E almost 500 people stranded in the airport, actual time is 20:10 but now they said due to some unforeseen reason it is delayed to next day afternoon 13:30 pm, such bullshit, is this the way you treat your passengers pic.twitter.com/MXDdvnVnBX

Passengers were left at the airport with limited or no information from IndiGo.
One X user Nieteesh wrote: "Indigo flight delayed from Istanbul to Delhi, scheduled departure was 20.05. Then got delayed for 2 hours."
"Now it's showing further delayed by another 8 hours. Worst service and people at Istanbul airport has no clue about this," he wrote.
Apart from the flight to Delhi, another plane, which was supposed to fly to Mumbai from Istanbul, got delayed for several hours.
One Parshwa Mehta wrote on X: "Hey @IndiGo6E , your handling of flight 6E0018 from Istanbul to Mumbai on Dec 12 has been a disaster. Scheduled to depart at 8:15 PM, it was delayed to 11 PM on the same day. Fine, we waited. Then it was shockingly pushed to 10 AM the next day. What’s going on?"

"@Ministry_CA can you please probe into this matter. There is absolutely no communication from @IndiGo6E apart from automated flight delayed notification. Issues happen in the real world, but what truly sucks here is that there is no ownership from airlines," he said.
He said the incident showed a failure of basic customer service.
"Where is the accountability? Where is the empathy for the passengers stranded overnight at the airport?" the passenger said.
The incident came to light at a time when IndiGo, major Indian airlines, was recently rated among the world's worst airlines in 2024 global rankings released by AirHelp.
The survey showed the Indian airlines firm scoring just 103rd out of 109 airlines.
