Jailed RJD politician Shahabuddin's picture goes viral, police investigating

Patna, Jan 7 (TheBiharPost/IBNS): A new photograph of controversial RJD politician Mohammad Shahabuddin has gone viral in the social media, prompting the authorities to launch an investigation.

Shahabuddin is currently lodged in his home town Siwan jail in Bihar while a petition seeking his shifting to high-security Delhi’s Tihar jail has been pending with the Supreme Court.

In the photograph, the controversial RJD leader is seen in an entirely new get-up with shaven head and trimmed moustache. So far, he was spotted in luxuriant hair and evenly-grown moustache.

Authorities claim the photograph was shot outside the jail yet they conducted a raid in the jail and recovered four cell phones as well as four SIM cards from the jail premises, media reports said.

The police have registered a case against four persons in connection with the incident.
