Jammu Police arrests fraudsters with fake RCs, PAN cards

Jammu, Jun 16 (UNI) Jammu Police on Sunday arrested a group of fraudsters with fake registration certificates and PAN cards here in Nagrota area on city outskirts.

Police spokesman said that on May 25, one Tata Mobile loaded with Bovine animals at naka point Sidhra Bridge and arrested accused namely Zahoor Ahmed of Chak, Dablehar, R S Pura following which a case was registered and investigation started.


During the course of investigation, the accused person produced one permission issued by DC Jammu regarding transportation of Bovine animal, which apparently looked fake.


"The permission was scrutinized which turned out to be fake," he said adding that during questioning, the accused disclose that he took permission from one Bipin Singh of Trikuta Nagar and on his disclosure, he was immediately apprehended.


"He was questioned and disclosed that he used to make permissions, fake Registration certificates, driving licences, Insurance certificates, Route permits from one Vikram Seth of Kachi Chhawni Jammu*."


Police said that Vikram was immediately arrested and put to sustaining questioning during which he confessed his guilty.


Police teams along with administrative officials, conducted raid at his rented shop at Paloura and recovered a computer set along with two printers, scanner, fake Driving Licences, Fake Pan cards, Stamps of different departments from his shop which were seized on the spot in presence of First Class Executive Magistrate.
"During the course of sustained questioning, the accused persons admitted their guilty," he added and said that the investigation is in progress and more arrests cannot be ruled out.
