JDS leader Danish Ali joins Mayawati's BSP
New Delhi, Mar 16 (IBNS): In a surprising move ahead of the national polls, Janata Dal Secular (JDS) leader Danish Ali on Saturday joined former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati's Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), media reports said.
Ali was the general secretary of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda's JDS.
Ali was welcomed to Mayawati's party by BSP leader Satish Chandra Mishra.
"JD(S) doesn't have a large organisational structure in UP. Despite all my efforts I could not have raised it (JDS) in my 'janmabhoomi, my 'karmabhoomi'....The way in which there is a threat to constitution today, it has become essential to use our energy with a strong leadership," the former JDS leader has been quoted by NDTV.
Mayawati will likely decide the role of Ali in BSP.
