J&K: SSB official killed, another in injured in firing near Banihal

Srinagar, Sept 20 (IBNS): A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) official was killed and another injured in firing near Banihal along the Jammu-Srinagar national highway on Wednesday evening, media reports said.

The incident took place near an under-construction four-lane Banihal-Qazigund road tunnel at Nowgam near Banihal.

The deceased has been identified as Assistant Sub-Inspector Ram Parveshar Yadav.

Police is carrying out an investigation into the matter to ascertain under what circumstance the firing took place.

The firing reportedly took place around 8.30 pm on Wednesday.
