JNU row: Congress bemused with PM's silence
New Delhi, Feb 19 (IBNS) As video clippings of BJP lawmakers manhandling students and journalist are doing the rounds, the Congress on Friday expressed their dismay over Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on the matter.
The party took to Twitter and wrote: "PM is maintaining his famed silence. He should condemn the use of doctored videos & the action against journalists & lawyers."
Earlier it had tweeted that the video used by a BJP lawmaker as evidence in the JNU case was altered.
Another tweet read: "Just because we would not use some of the words, does it become sedition? Despite the Kedar Nath Judgement and Balwant Ram Judgement of SC."
The Congress also attacked the RSS and stated that the JNU students were demanding freedom from RSS ideology.
"The students were shouting slogans demanding Freedom (Azadi) from Feudal forces (Samantvaad), Hunger, Poverty & from Sanghvad (RSS ideology)," it wrote.
