JNU student leader, who is accused of rape, surrenders to police
Ratan, 29, a PHD student and a prominent leader of the Left-affiliated All India Students' Association, had been missing since Sunday, when the alleged victim, an MPhil student filed a complaint with the police.
Ratan came to the e police station along with his lawyer, shortly after 10 pm on Wednesday and surrendered.
The 28-year-old woman has alleged that Ratan had raped her inside his hostel room after taking her there on the pretext of handing over the CD of a film.
