Karnataka: CM Yediyurappa has not said anything objectionable, says V Somanna

Mysuru, Nov 2 (UNI) Coming to the rescue of Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa in a video controversy, senior BJP leader and Karnataka Minister for Housing V Somanna on Saturday that he (Yediyurappa) had not spoken anything objectionable in the video that has gone viral on the social media now.

Speaking to newsmen here, Somanna said that Yediyurappa is a towering personality in the party and he is a supreme leader in the State and also a good human being. He was pained by the plight of the 17 resigned MLAs who are now facing disqualification.

"All that he has said is that the BJP government was formed only after their resignation (17 disqualified MLAs, including three JDS and 14 Congress). It is unfortunate that the audio was leaked and it went viral on the social media," he said.

"It was also unfortunate that the words of concern by Yediyurappa is being misused by vested interests. Regarding the leak of the audio, which might be the handiwork of some partymen, the high command will take a call," he warned.

Reacting to the criticism by Opposition Leader Siddaramaiah that the achievement of the 100-day old BJP government led by Yediyurappa was a big zero, he said,"Siddaramaiah should not try to appease the Congress high command by criticising BJP government in the State."

“Let him (Siddaramaiah) introspect the achievements of his first 100 days as CM. Since his swearing in, Yediyurappa is plagued by the floods affecting most parts of the State. However, Yediyurappa has been handling the situation effectively," he added.
